Flowery blouse collects the thoughts of the Amuzgo boys and girls of Xochistlahuaca, Guerrero, who explain the meaning of the figures with which local women decorate their clothing. The huipil is a traditional blouse woven on a belt loom. The book is illustrated with woodcuts of the garments, carved by local girls and boys, and photographs of blouses and of the summer workshop where a group of craftswomen teach the girls to weave, to perpetuate the tradition.
